The picture above explains the system that enables the door to open on hatchback type vehicles where obstruction is caused by rear lights either side of the tailgate.
By adding an extra hinge and slipping the lower dog-pod door part into a slot in top of the (H) dimension, the door can be lifted vertically at this point.
We therefore need you to provide us with an extra dimension (J).
(J) is the vertical distance at the back of the dog-pod, between the base of the dog-pod and the inside of the glass. This should be measured at the side of the dog-pod, due to the curvature of the glass.
There is an extra charge for hatchbacks with this design of £25.00.
To obtain this (J) dimension it may be necessary to close the tailgate and measure (J) from inside the car.
It is crucial that this dimension be correct to ensure that the tailgate closes completely.

As all our dog-pods are now foldable, you will be able to partly collapse the dog-pod and assemble it within the vehicle should the assembled dog-pod be too large to pass through the tailgate.
